What is the Shape of an Albatross: an open studio with Mark Anthony Martinez.

Through a new series of works, Mark Anthony Martinez explores the metaphor of having “an albatross around one’s neck.” Martinez interrogates symbols that may have once held a sense of pride or protection — ultimately sour into shame, guilt, violence and other burdensome obstacles that haunt country and self.
