VIVA OBLIQUE (dance party)‍ ‍

Uplift Gallery is the home studio to Albert and Caroline Gonzalezs, two revered artists pushing for community amongst artists in our region. They put on a series of regular Art Collecting Mixers to help many artists find their own community for their pieces.

In conjunction with CAM (contemporary art month) we have put together a lovely curated event featuring some of the finest forward thinking artists in our region.

This event will feature a full on live visual mapping display by Diego Chavez. Diego is a locally celebrated visual and audio creative who has been featured in multiple galleries and exhibitions that highlight his expertise. In addition, Eric Acuna will be displaying a special collection of his creations to highlight the space for optimal engagement during the CAM event. We are stoked to add these featured creators to this event to help dial in the vibe.

The dance portion of this event will be highlighted by DJ Shani of the Groove Temple. Shani is no stranger to our city and to the world of dance music. As a former Gramaphone Record employee she is versed in the ways of House Music and has taken that experience to the airwaves in Austin, Texas for many years. Joining her to open the evening will be the Sprout Collective, featuring Just Joe, Mike C. & Kinn. This group of local musicians, producers and djs puts on various dance music events around town and has been a part of the local art community since 2005.

This is a dance party, so be sure to dress for the OBLIQUE idea we are presenting. We want to see how funky and fun all of our guests can be for this special moment.

On site we will offer a few beverages from 512 Brewing Company, some coffee courtesy of Press Coffee and some donated smart drinks for those who chose not to partake in any alcoholic or stimulated beverages. Be ready to get funky with us....its going to be a fun CAM event!
